I'm currently reading a fascinating biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer who was both a theologian and a spy during the Third Reich; he was executed for being part of a plot to assassinate Hitler. What I'm finding the most interesting is how Hitler came into power, how he chipped away at German society and the church. A 600 page book by Eric Metaxas and I'm not even half-way!

Yes, Just as Putin & Un & HIM, they poke to see how much backlash they get. Then they poke some more. Then as people become more tolerant of the poking it accelerates in frequency, severity, duration. Slowly innuring society to the hot water as the temperature increase & the frog cooks. First it was the jews. Then it was the trade unionists. Then it was the gays. Then they came for me. Beware! Vote paper ballot in November.
