Which one is your favorite breakfast? My favorite is eggs but also love oatmeal.
Fruit and maybe cheese or an egg. I loathe pancakes any time of the day - always have. I like oatmeal for a late night snack.
One time, when I was very young, my family travelled to Seattle. My parents took us to a restaurant for breakfast/brunch. I think it may have been an IHOP. Anyhow, the menus were ginormous and listed nothing but pancakes, many, many flavours of pancakes and syrups, etc. Nothing but pancakes - no French Toast, no waffles, no plain toast. My parents and sibs were ecstatic. I thought I had died and gone to hell. LOL
And biscuits and gravy and hash browns and bacon.
Steel-cut oatmeal...I make it in my mini crockpot, put it in containers, and have enough for a week. Brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, dash of cream. Yum!
I love love love brown sugar. Well, at least in my oatmeal and my yams.
bacon but for fancy eggs benedict. THen there are the ubiquitous breakfast burritos around here
When we are in Mexico it is a toss up between chilies rellenos and chiliquiles. Getting hungry just thinking about it.
@Surfpirate rellenos for me. I have seen chilaquiles on the menu but never tried them
Gravy and biscuits, with scrambled eggs.
Or Eggs Benedict
Wish I could find a good sausage gravy and biscuits place. Seems like every time I try, I end up with a gooey glob of gluey "gravy."
@BlueWave I like sausage gravy Ok, but I prefer gravy that is made with bacon grease. Very few restaurants make sausage gravy of any type that is edible, even few that make it well.
For breakfast, I eat healthy cereal with lightly roasted almonds and fruit on top. Organic, nonfat milk. When hiking, I add a hard-boiled egg.
Extra protein from an egg keeps me going longer. Getting ready to hike, I alway put roasted almonds in my pocket. Almonds boost me up the trail when I get hungry at 11 a.m.
In the morning, we keep going to find a view spot for lunch.
Eggs of some kind-scrambled fried, omelette, egg salad.
Well.... i can't eat a really good breakfast in the morning or ill get diria. So i have to be careful and hang around for an hour or so. But when the conditions are right... i want the works. Sausage,eggs, bacon, hash browns, gravy, a V-8, coffee, toast and butter, grits. Look out belly...lol.
Not listed. My favorite breakfast is as follows:
Belgian Waffles (with fresh strawberries) and fake, Log Cabin (yeah, I said it) "maple syrup."
Two scambled eggs with cheddar cheese
Bacon
Coffee
Milk
Next time you're makin' waffles I'm there! But, if I do strawberries, I use Reddi-Whip, instead of syrup.
I buy only Log Cabin. Believe it or not, I like it more than 100% pure maple syrup. But, I do use the pure when a recipe calls for it.
Eggs are good, especially in breakfast burritos but I prefer smoked salmon on a croissant fresh from the oven with a bit of cream cheese and all of it is available at Costco.
@Sheannutt Allergic to fish?
Eggs and any kind of meat. I rarely, to the point of almost never, eat sugar or grains especially for breakfast.
I make "overnight oats" almost every night. So many different combinations to make and enjoy!
With bacon and toast.
@Sheannutt Your loss
I eat the same thing every day at my desk during the week right before work - a half slice of toast with creamy Jif peanut butter, and a packet of Quaker lower sugar instant oatmeal, with my own added raisins. Yum, yum, and more yum.
I like to have fruit for a snack before lunch -- today it was pineapple chunks and a Zespri Gold kiwi. The golds are a little ball of deliciousness.
I also love the other options on your list. I was on a veggie scrambled egg kick for a very long time a couple of years ago.
I limit donuts to about once or twice a year. Love French toast, bacon, hashbrowns and all that good stuff, too!
