I am disturbed how differently I look at life - right and wrong- than so many Trump defenders do. They are expressing so much hatred for immigrants and they call themselves religious. It seems that as long as a politician is anti-abortion anything else they do is ok. I dislike this chasm and wonder if I'm as narrow-minded as they seem to be.
I've only been a member for two days and I've already been educated. Seems you don't have to site your religious beliefs to justify your hatred for those who are not of your group or belief system. Our country appears to be pretty welll split into two factions - left and far right.
I'm atheist and will hate all of the invaders of my country if I want. I despise them as much as Palestinians despise invaders of their country. I don't hate them for the kind of people they are or for the languages they speak. I hate them for their disrespect of our system while taking advantage of it and trying to make it into something it is not. It makes them and those supporting them worthy of any catastrophes that should befall them.
It is rational and healthy for any system to protect itself and it's integrity, it's functional definition. Not to do so is AIDS at the socio-economic level. It is a disease of the body social; the body politic and it is fatal.
I am not for open borders. We need immigration reform. We are obligated to treat people humanely. How can you hate someone who is fleeing for their life and the lives of their children?
@sulewe Fleeing for their life or their children's lives is an assumption propagated in the press. For the sake of discussion, lets agree that such conditions exist for some of them.
To reach our border, they must be granted asylum by Mexico. Mexico treats illegal entries to their territory very harshly. As soon as they enter Mexico, the 'threats to their lives' in their home countries arrest and they are safe from politically motivated harm.
Problem solved.
Mexico facilitates, however, their Northern migration to our border. Actually Mexico should be charged a special tariff for every person found crossing or having crossed our border illegally and for the cost of repatriating them, They have no more right to enter the United States illegally than they would have had sneaking into Mexico.
This is nothing more than an ongoing politically motivated effort to undermine demographics in order to 'empower' the Left; to enable the Left to 'fundamentally change' (ever heard that before?) our system, our lifestyle and our higher level of prosperity.
@Silver1wun and.....mexico is going to pay that "special tariff" like they are going to pay for the Wall? What unmitigated gall you dumpsters have!
@AnneWimsey Sovereignty means something. Those who elected Trump, by any juvenile epithet, had only two options. Unmitigated gaul far better fits a person who blatantly violates laws, seeing herself as above those laws. Partisans field imperfect to despicable candidates from which we non-affiliated must choose and support as our choice.
Lots of imperfections about Trump in personal character and policies. We get a mixed bag in any choice; no candidates for sainthood. I despise his Middle East policy and pandering to theological fanaticism. In spite of the 'never right' coverage in our corporate and state manipulated press, Trump's other foreign policy and stellar economic policy successes are too obvious to any non-sycophants for even the press to hide. People are working at record levels amd making more money. They experience it and friends and relatives witness it.
It takes a special kind of religious devotion to twist such achievements into products of an orange devil. It is in fact, the stuff of great comedy. We in the political mainstream are treated to it for free!
Hi, Sulewe, and welcome to the website,
Don't worry..the alt-right haters are only doing as their Hebrew god does..hating and persecuting anyone foreign, condemning anyone who doesn't obey arbitrary religious rules exactly, etc. Totally misogynist..the Hebrew god even allowed fathers to sell their daughters into slavery.
