What activities do you participate in regularly that are environmentally friendly and do your body/mind good?
I recycle houses. Instead of letting them go to landfills I take them and give them away.
In the next day or two I'll be auctioning a log house on eBay to raise money to help pay for related costs. Both get moved and saved.
Sounds interesting id like to know more. Ive been doing up houses since my early twenties, now im developing a big block in to a permaculture paradise. Hopefully with some tiny houses
@Happygypsynana
Here in the US we demolish hundreds of thousands of buildings every year. When I want buildings I put an ad in the paper that says.
FREE Demolition. Call Tom at 434-709-5947
Thats it. People call so they can save the demolition costs. I look at the buildings and when I see some I want I buy the salvage rights for 90 says for $1 and either move them myself or auction them on eBay to raise money to buy land and put in wells and septic systems.
I/we panelize the houses. Lay the wall sections on a trailer and take them to the new location and put them back up. Sort of like what Ikea does with book shelves.
Today I will be getting a log house from a guy and I'll auction it on eBay to raise money to buy land for a another guy so he can move a house onto for himself.
*if anyone reading this wants a house or knows someone that wants to get rid of one anywhere in the U.S. you can text me. That's my real number up there.

@Anonbene This is really awesome!
@JBeberstein
Pshaw
@Anonbene wish we did more of that here in Australia. Some places have tips where materials are stored then sold but some places don't and it goes in to landfill, such a waste of resources. Im a scavenger, see value in much that i come across vunteering at our local tip shop.
I restored my prairie, oak savannah woodland, & remove invasive species. I reuse plastic bags to clean up after my dogs. My cat wears 2 large bells & a hazard red/orange collar so that the migratory birds & wildlife are aware of him. I raise chickens for my own eggs. I compost. I rescue dogs & cats & guinea pigs. I rehab injured wildlife. Milkweed & native plants are sacred on my property. I pick up other peoples litter on the beach & the forest preserve. I boycott Monsanto, Bayer, Nestle, Norway, Japan, Iceland. I donate to environmental organizations. I work for the legalization of cannabis. I am near vegetarian.I am childless by choice. Whew. Toot toot toot. That is my horn.
Fantastic, i do many of those things too, such an inspiration, thanks for posting.
I recycle all sorts of stuff. I always bring reusable bags to shop. I use my bicycle almost daily, for errands and random miles around the neighborhood. I pick up general trash on several roads near my home, and get money for any aluminum cans I collect . Bonus !
I pick up my dog's shit in plastic bags from stores.
I've recently been bringing my own bags to grocery stores. When I have plastic bags at home I save them and take them too so that I can recycle.
I recycle my and my two neighbors plastic bottles.
What do you do with them?
I RECYCLE THEM...as in I bring them to tje super and placed them inside the recycling machines...also the cans and glass bottles.
@DUCHESSA sorry didnt quite understand what you meant, so you take them to a place that recycles them. I fill mine with soft plastics and then i plan to use them as bricks to build something useful. Takes about a month to fill one bottle.
@Happygypsynana Yours is another -good- way to recycle them. Here -NY- they charge you 5 cents. extra for each plastic bottle / can / glass bottle you buy...and each time you place one inside the machine you get the 5 cents. back; is a way to make sure you will recycle them.
Also, most homeless pick the bottles from the streets and recycle them as well....is rare to see a bottle on the streets of NY.
