What do you think?
should atheist know and should have read the religious books in all its contexts before questioning religious beliefs?

I think you can form your own opinion and it might be better that way. If you are one to debate you should know your opponent.

Since religion seems to be based solely on feelings ("feeling the presence" etc.) I would say no, as i find atheists prefer science & reason. Therefore, it is not necessary to read a bunch of claptrap.....time much better spent on science, the arts, enjoying life.....

It would only be worth it if you enjoy books of mythology. As fo me I was force fed enough of that crap in Catholic school. Also most of the people that believe in this nonsense don’t even read the books associated with their own cults

It's about enjoying the life.. Thank you for the comment.

I don't see any obligation to learn about stuff you find completely unbelievable and uninteresting, but if there is doubt, or worry, or curiosity, it may be the only way out.

I have no desire to know all, and as much as I love to read, I wouldn't have the patience to get through them all ... uh-uh.

Thank you for the opinion.
