Another interesting tidbit from my recent trip. I met exactly two people that like Trump. They were both women from Germany. The first lady was probably early 70’s and truly a disgusting human being. She made some rather racist statements about President Obama. Had I not been in a foreign country I might have pushed back a little harder. The second woman overheard a conversation in an elevator, waited until the door opened for her floor, promptly told me she liked Trump and then exited.
I think there are some elderly people that are racists in Germany. Their Nazi parents may have had some influence. I remember an elderly German woman that made remarks against Jews.
There was a right extremist meting after the influx of asylum seekers in Germany. Police busted the meeting with water cannon. I also remember a male, who was asking a black person to stand up from his seat in a streetcar in Munich. A few stations later, police entered and arrested the offending male. I do not think that the offender behaved like Germans. Racism is rather an exception in Germany and can occur in any country.
How many people did you meet in total? I am hoping that it was thousands but hundreds would still be good.
Well not quite that many but most told me all of their friends were of a like mind to their own. I left knowing most everyone outside of our country is mystified as to what the hell happened to the USA.
@LouLou It's good to know, I'm in Canada and we can't make any sense of it either, my various friends around the world are also just as mystified. It's good to check though because I don't allow scumbags to be my friends so it could be a bit biased.
The first woman was probably and ex member of the Nazi youth, and the second not very informed.
In her 70's she would be a little young to be around in 1945 and in the Hitler Youth - no toddlers with machine guns thank you.
@Surfpirate You are right about her not being in the Hitler Youth, however her parents were probably supporters.
