Its very hot the in independant land of Oswaldtwistle, where the gobbiners live. My office is like an oven. My lawn is powdery and my flowers are wilting. No hosepipe ban yet but its coming. As a ginger, I am not cut out for 32°C. I need to hide in a darkened room until autumn when I can come out and stop feeling jealous of everyone's glorious tan. I just get pink and freckly. Oh and don't get me started on global warming, how will I survive?? How is the weather where you are?

Don't worry - the rain will arrive in about a week when I get back to England! I've been in Italy for a month and they've had the most rain ever on record. So not only have I had the rain here, but I've missed the heatwave in England too. Tell me you're sorry for me......

Tans are hugely over-rated. Pale and interesting is where it's at.

It is a scorching 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38C) here halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth. We haven't even gotten to the hot part of the summer yet. This is part of why I am nocturnal.

It's a lovely day here in Chula Vista, California: about 78 °F and 76% relative humidity. Nice breeze coming in off the ocean. Beautiful! ?

HOT 100 plus Farenheit. Be even hotter the rest of the week.

West central Florida here. Temps are 90-92 feels like 100-104 and generally humid especially late afternoon and evening. I don’t go outside too much.

Humidity is a killer. I remember in Hong Kong..sweat dripping in your eyes. The dry heat in Arizona is much more pleasant, until it gets tooooo hot.

I like dry heat - I hate hot and humid. Eastern US or Western Africa are humid. Western US or Eastern Africa have dry heat.

I remember when Margaret Thatcher privatised all the water utilities, one of the first things they did was sell off land earmarked for reservoirs, to make a quick profit.

Initial privatisations were reasonable, but then the Tories became hell-bent on privatising anything they could find. Public utilities, such as water and power, should NEVER have been privatised. Likewise, the railways. These should have become parastatal companies.
(Companies of an organization or industry having some political authority and serving the state indirectly. - ie. organised along the lines of a private company, but in which the government is the only shareholder.)

I am a redhead too, so I feel your need to hide so you don’t combust. It’s actually quite nice in south-central Pennsylvania today. Warm without humidity and the sun is shining.

So-so. Low 30s by day, high 20s by night.
Be warmer next week, when mid 30s are forecast.

We are experiencing a delightful heatwave here in Ireland...highest recorded temperatures since 1974! Glorious...☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️??

Same here

Really ? Over there next week. Will it last ? 30 tomorrow here in Pontivy, heavy too, not nice and bright. I stay in after 11 and venture out after 16.00. Wimpy but unburnt !

@Tilia. Hi Tilia, France is my favourite place to be, but you would not believe the weather here this week, hotter than ever, new update... Weather in Ireland likely to exceed all records since 1880..yahoo!
