Deforestation for farms & logging operations has decimated this rare primate by removing 3/4 of Madagascar's forests.. They have been pushed to the northern part of the country & are one of the most endangered mammal on the planet. The International Primate Protection League is working to ensure their survival. This is a country where bubonic plague still exists & increasingly parasites & poaching are threatening the 10% of lemurs that remain. Could we humans stop breeding for a damn moment? 4 births every second is too much!
Yes. I'm a antinatalist. Every reason to choose to have a child is a selfish reason.
I would blame capitalism first though. It's a shame about Madagascar.
Education for women and providing health care are the most effective and humane forms of slowing the birth rate. For some reason people resist the gentler and more beneficial methods of population reduction. I will never understand it.
