Well, my friend. no one day goes by w/o a Latino/a saying to me (in Spanish) "You look gringa"....and I live in New York since 1980.

@DUCHESSA I heard gringita a lot but love the culture so much. My spanish is tettible because I learned it from hearing it. Dont really know hw to conjugate verbs.

@gigihein Adorable. You are like most of my students; they spoke broken Spanish because their parents didn't want them to learn said language to avoid discrimination.
To conjugate the verbs is very difficult but not impossible. OK, gringuita?

@DUCHESSA i am white and reslly a gringa. I learned spanish from my mother in law who didnt speak much English. My children are proud to be Cuban.my heritage is Finnish German French and English. I camt day I am the one often embarassed to be white after hearing so many spew racist views.

@gigihein Don't be embarrassed of what you are....and Cuban is not a race but a nationality. See, I am of French heritage (My parents /culturally), I don't know the origin of my granpas (I believe they were a mix of Scots and Welch and I am Argentinean by birth.

@DUCHESSA I don't think of it as a race just a great culture I enjoyed being part of.
