Is judging someone from the way they dress ever equate out? I know at least one very wealthy person that shops for their clothing at thrift stores just so they do not stand out and also as an example to their employees that there is nothing wrong with used clothing. I also know people that can`t afford high-end clothing spend money to buy expensive clothing to keep up with the Kardashians. What you ware does not make you smarter it just makes you more vain.

It only matters if you don’t take care of yourself, like tattered clothes at work is bad— better to have three good outfits than 17 ratty ones, of course that’s “white collar”, in some blue collar you’ll always get stains and tears so don’t sweat it...

I always (instinctively) make a judgment call on what people are wearing. I have quite often been proven wrong but many times my judgment has been spot on. I have learned not to let that first judgment be the determining factor in how I see them as a whole.

I know a certain group like that they look like a bunch of thugs. They are a group that will stand up for someone being picked on.

@azzow2 Yes exactly. I have been pleasantly surprised many a time by people who I thought were one thing (based on the way they dress) and turned out to be something completely different.

I’ve always considered ‘what I’m wearing’ a decent screening tool. Judge away 😉
