You don't have to be religious to believe in a higher power that surpasses what our mind makes it out to be.
I agree. Or to be undecided about it even. That's why I'm agnostic.
And why, exactly, would I need or want to do that?
You are probably correct, but some of us don’t feel the need to invoke a greater being. I have never thought that there is a higher power, however I have an open mind and if I was presented with credible evidence, well.....who knows!
A higher power. That would be an injected smallblock Chevy. Wizards in the sky? Nar. Somewhere in the universe a species smarter than us? Given the subject of this thread, I hope so
Exactly right. Two words:
Donald. Trump.
The foremost higher power and intellectual genius in the world.
Oh, I cannot keep a straight face...
@Bucktoothed You say you came here to stir the pot. Interesting motivation and intention. Is it working how you imagined it would?
Hugs and kisses, a liberal snowflake.
@BlueWave Another liberal snowflake waving back at you
@Bucktoothed My friend, you have a fellow traveller in me. Over the course of my benighted adulthood, I have voted for so many parties. Always place, time and issues. I am not rusted on to any "side".
I believe in a higher power. What it is I don't know. Might be Maha Kali.
Probably is more a definition of "spiritual" than of "religious". Some people believe what they are told because for some reason they don't think for themselves. I don't understand it - but I know it happens. Other people limit what they believe to what they know to be facts. This makes more sense to me, but I think it is still short sighted. Facts are constantly being discovered. We don't know all of them. Beliefs should be based on what seems reasonable from individual perspective and experiences while not discounting or ridiculing the experiences of others.
@Bucktoothed yep, facts, beliefs, people- ever changing, always something new
