Is totally original thought actually possible?
Now obviously way back in history there must have been truly original thought, at least it appears to be recorded as such. But as more and more information and influences constantly surround us is original thought now more of a case of adapting an influence or a manifestation of environmental influences etc?
Just musing, would be interesting to hear people's ideas
I still believe, that with proper creativity, you can have an original thought. If you put your mind to it, I bet you can create a sentence that has never been uttered by another human being in the history of humanity. Now, if you start grouping thoughts together by type...like "irritation at a leader," then things might get much more difficult to be fully original. But... even Isaac Newton, in the 1700's, was having similar thoughts... after all, he knew he got to where he was by "standing on the shoulders of giants..." So, his original thought came from just slightly adding to similar thoughts from the past.
Who do you know built sandcastle and snowplaygrounds professional for 40 years. The idea is to love what I do and make money being unique rather than fighting the competition.
Did meet two other people who have traveled over a 100 countries. Too many people are hypnotized into programs for life, to be able to create original ideas. Even for me under the synthetic system, it"s rare to come up with original ideas.

Original thoughts happen all the time , but are usually ignored . I'm seeing a lot of new inventions for making use of , "trash ," these days - used/broken ceramics become part of the road systems , build houses out of repurposed materials , used cooking oil becomes fuel for vehicles ...
PEOPLE step back from me on a regular basis because I rarely see things "normally"
If you think of two awesome things.... and then you think of those two things put together... you will get something more than twice as awesome. Try it. I'll wait.
Tell you what does make me wonder, and it's along the same lines: quirks of language, popular phrases and euphemisms....
Someone must have been the first person to call a dollar a 'buck', breasts 'boobs', etc... Or to say 'howd'ya like them apples?' or 'a stitch in time saves nine', or even be the fist person to type 'lol'.
