Was at a gathering a couple of days ago. There was a visiting pastor he shook my hand, then asked why he does not see me in church? Without hesitation, I said that I am agnostic. Then he proceeds to ask me what will happen after I die? I said my energy will be absorbed back into the universe. He repeated the question several times. My reply was the same. Still, with a concern on his face, he was searching for some reasoning. He made several references to the bible to which I debunked every one of the passages. I told him that nonbelievers are the most discriminated against and that he should be progressive and start preaching that nonbelievers should not be held with prejudice. Think I left him dumbfounded.
It seems like when someone is not in on the fantasy it really makes those that are uncomfortable. It almost forces them to think rationally-scary stuff!
I think that the more we can have respectful disagreements the better
