Since this is my Facebook ? Just wanted to share that I have a job interview, today. I'm super nervous. What do you do to psych yourself up for a job interview?
I think about how motherfucking sharp I look when dressed up for an interview. Dressing up always helps with the confidence.
@nutrition_nerd You're smart, articulate and cute as hell (hey, it's been scientifically proven to help!). You'll do great.
@nutrition_nerd Oooh, don't you look swish! Stylish, yet professional. I didn't have an ugly duckling phase, but as a six foot plus skinny no-arsed white boy in my youth, I had one hell of an ugly stick insect phase. By your last comment, does this mean congratulations are in order?
@nutrition_nerd fingers crossed for you.
Shot of Wild Turkey from a pocket flask as you enter the building.
Act like you are interviewing them. You are evaluating the company to see if they are worth it.
Pretend you’re an actor in a movie. Playing a confident, put together character.
And the old chestnut, imagine the interviewers in their undies.
When I used to conduct interviews I always felt a bit nervous, although I don’t think I showed it.
They are just people, and you are interviewing them as much as they are you.
Congratulations! I try to run through the questions in my mind that I think I may be asked. I am always nervous during an interview. Best of luck to you.
You got this! Take your time and be friendly.
Think about how you’re going to present yourself and try to conceive how you can succeed. Avoid thinking negatively. A good self image is a must.
Know that the interviewer is just another human being, that no job is worth giving up your freedom for, and don't sweat the small stuff.
Pray! LOL This is such a great forum for this. The downside of not being superstitious is that we don't have the cheap tricks to rely on like imaginary friends that calm us. I am glad to see a lot of the practical advice that was posted along with some jokes to put you at ease. My last interview, I walked around squeezing a stress ball all morning to release some angst. Then I chatted with the receptionist and security guard while waiting to tap into my normal mode before going in.
I relax and be myself.
I just quit my job today. I have a new one starting in two weeks.
Not sure i haven't had one in awhile, maybe some good music ya like?
Awesome mate...just be yourself. As we say over here " She'll be right mate ". Good luck!
Go over any possible questions that you will asked"Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years time"? "Will you continue your education"? "What assets will you bring to this organization"? "Will you be happy on a salary"?,and possibly. "What is your Debt load for student loans"?
