You should watch this. As Trump meekly stood next to him, Putin declared that he wanted Trump to win and that he helped. The White House cut that part out of the official transcript and video even though it was televised. Down the memory hole.
And then just yesterday Trump said to a room of supporters:
"Just remember: What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening."
