I haven't talked to a friend of mine in about a year or so, so I thought I would give her a call today and catch up a bit. The conversation got strange after I mentioned that I met a new love and that I met him through this site. Her reaction: you are an atheist???? I didn't know that. I guess this never came up in conversation between us (and we have known each other for almost 30 years). I told her it's always been like that, that I have never believed. She said she was a Christian and that we needed to talk about my non belief when we see each other again, that she couldn't quite accept it. She didn't want to accept when I told her that I was steadfast in my atheism and said again we would talk when we see each other again.
Seems like I just lost a "friend" today and I don't feel bothered by it.

An unfortunate qualification to be a friend.

Bible beaters are not worth engaging with

Good riddance. Best to cut toxic people out of your life.

Yes if you stated your belief and she needs to talk at you. Probably no longer a friend. Unless there is some clarity she needs? (((GG)))

It seems that you have already came to the same conclusion as I did when you enclose the word friend with quotes.

If this is the first conversation in a year, and she never noticed, you ain't lost much!
