Can you come to my house and hang out and fix things?
We can talk about it my rates are reasonable
Oops I just Googled your profile... Illinois really... I'm afraid my travel charge would be just ridiculous..... but if I'm ever back that way ..........
Yeah I was a warranty manager for many years for a construction company went and saw thousands of couples and how they lived the woman's man cave is the entire house that's why the man has to have a man cave
@VictoriaNotes in my experience it was the guy that felt compressed and had no privacy
@VictoriaNotes well you know what they say there's an exception to every rule I just had to see so many couples and go into so many homes that I'm just going on a general statistic but of course you have to take everything in life on a case-by-case basis

@VictoriaNotes I keep stealing this saying but ultimately it's always the truth for me. I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it
@VictoriaNotes okay let me put it this way in a huge percentage of cases the woman absolutely ruled the master bedroom master bathroom and the master walk-in closet the husband's clothing was usually relegated to a small closet in the hallway again this is not my opinion but what I have seen thousands and thousands of times so yes I would say that the woman's most favorite place where she relaxes is the master bedroom and master bathroom invariably when they bought the house it was always the woman who requested the garden tub most guys shower but again there's an exception to every rule so don't come back and start telling me how all these men love to take baths I'm sure they're out there again we're dealing with statistical averages
The kitchen.
That is a work area though. Not for relaxing, like a man cave, & not for hobbies like most workshops.
@CarinAu contraire! Kkneading bread, for example, is one of the most relaxing things I do....and I am a woodworker, make jewelry, sew, etc etc etc.
Depends on the woman. I know two who have workshops of which any man who prides himself on his man-cave would be envious - one of them contains a wide variety of metal-cutting, tube-bending, welding and brazing equipment which she uses to build extremely desirable and expensive racing bike frames; another has a full set of Snap-On tools and various other equipment she uses to restore vintage cars.
I have a sewing room, which has been taken over by my geckos (and tarantulas) so now it's the gecko room, although I still sew there now and then.
Women don't need one..the entire house is their territory. It's men who need their own place to be themselves.
Everyone else uses that space too though. Not at all the same. Not to mention the lack of privacy & constant interruptions by helpless people needing stuff.
@Carin I suppose in households with young children. In my case, going out into the woods, sitting at my sewing machine (in the living room), playing the piano, etc. were my own room. It was all my space.
