I am planning a trip to Vietnam/Cambodia. I need motivation to save and be able to walk about 10 miles a day. And I can't pray about it! LoL

One of my buddies was given an all expenses paid trip there. It was in 1967 and he didn't really care for the welcoming committee...

Break up your walking in country with sea kayak travel. Vietnam and Cambodia have some of the most beautiful ocean shore topography that I've ever seen

Good luck. Sounds awesome!

You don't have to walk..there are plenty of motorbike taxis and tuk-tuks.

Angkor Watt is on my bucket list. I don't think the journey will be easy. Even though my wife is 12 years younger and in much better shape, I can usually out walk her when we visit a new place, I just get so excited. Then I pay for it a few days later and come home exhausted from my vacation. It's great that you have the forethought to prepare in advance. Now get to it.

I think Cambodia is going to be my next adventure as well.

I have lived in South Korea and Germany, been to Japan and traveled much of Europe and the Caribbean. I love Asia and have many friends who have been to Vietnam.

Seems like an odd destination . Any particular reason for Vietnam/Cambodia ?

Yes that's my question as well. Why there?

Big jar prominently displayed where you normally enter, decorated with scenes you hope to see, or at least "my trip" on it. All money under $5 in your wallet, including loose change, goes in there every day. A friend has gone to Europe 3 times, a cruise of the Greek Islands, plus Turkey using this method (plus careful trip shopping...don't ignore travel agents when you search...they have resources)
