Any reactions?
Some good points, but the tone is kind of... eesh...
I think Theresa has some mental problems unrelated to being Christian. Anthony dodged a bullet.
I like how he tries to put things in terms people can understand, simplifying concepts to their roots.
Still, like others have said, I dotn' thionk it woudl change any minds that weren't already wavering.
Still, it is a different approach, which most who watch it will nto have seen before, so perhaps there normal defenses wont' be up as high... and htey might learn something.
I think that in simple terms, Athiests are outside the Thiests "Circle of Truth", that is of course what they percieve to be true.
They don't like us because we, by are very existence, in larger and growing numbers, present a threat to the status quo; That most decent and right minded people naturally believe in God. That not to do so is somehow strange or unusual, even unpatriotic to be an unbeliever!
Numbers and concensus are important here, if there were only 5000 Christians for example, left on the planet and the rest of the world were Athiests, the religion would be a farce with little if any credibility.
That video is still not dumbed down enough to convince a theist (that's a shame) but maybe someone that is wavering or questioning.
True. Perhaps not so much dumbing it down, but a more subtle approach might help a bit.
I've been a fan of Darkmatter2525 for years.
I used to post his stuff a lot on another blog site that I used to be a member of.
He has changed his format and approach a little, and I think for the better. He has rather incisive vision. I too have appreciated him for a long time.
@evidentialist His other channel 'Dark Antics'. is pretty good too. It's not animated, it's him talking about many subjects.
This guy makes a lot of sense, and this is in fact the root of a lot of theist antipathy towards atheists. However, there is an unabashed tribalism that accompanies a lot of the organized religions that compels the collective hatred by perceiving differing beliefs (or non-belief) as a threat to the tribe, and so should be subject to collective derision and isolation of the "offenders". Still, I did enjoy this video, thanks for posting.
