I just held my breath for 1 minute and 17 seconds. No more hiccups. 😀

Take ten tiny tiny sips of water as quickly as you can. Always works for me

They are uncontrolled muscle spasms. An acupressure method is to close your eyes & rub your ear lobes until the spasms subside. The ear lobe has a nerve connection with the diaphragm

It is easier to just breath deeply for a minute.

Holding a full glass of water upright...lean over and drink from the ''far'' side of the glass. (Hard to describe...easy to do.) OR...have a big bite of a raw lemon.

You must be a great swimmer...holding your breath that long!

Wish that trick worked on my hiccups. Sometimes I'll get hiccups that last all day. They'll finally stop when I fall asleep, then they start back up again when I wake up the next day.

For me, the best cure for hiccups is to hold my breath and slowly drink a glass of lukewarm water. Repeat if the hiccups recur. Three rounds of this cures my hiccups.

TIP: Never drink ice water while public speaking. Cold water tightens your vocal cords. It can also trigger coughing.
