Hey there. I thought I'd send out a post of praise. I very much appreciate the feedback I've been getting from my comments and all. I'm new to any social site. I've been against the whole idea until I found this one 11 days ago. I was a little overzealous at first, enamored by the abundance of intellectuosos [not a word, I know]. I'll be less visible as I've found that the agnosticators [again] as a group, are generally more educated than me, and I realize I need to be more ears than mouth. I'm in a couple of groups, and want everyone to know they can talk to me without judgement. As straight as I am [what?], I am not against anyone, of any type, as long as they treat each other well. As one of average intelligence, I am most proud of myself that I was able to figure out that religion is made up, and that racism [any group hate] is as ignorant a mindset as one could hold. Thanks to the fine people on this site. I'm gonna go feed the dogs. Turns out they want to eat everyday. Troublemakers.
I went to a free school and did no maths till I was nearly nine years old; my geography is non existant I could and often do get lost in my own town, I have been to many other countries but couldn't place them on a map. I am good at arts and crafts and work pretty well with other people - I don't feel bad about the things I can't do because I know someone out there can do them and tell me the answers and despite all the not knowingness I was a lecturer in person centred counselling so I think it isnt a question of being savvy or not, wherever you are, its just a question of are you all right with your self -
Welcome again. Something you said struck a chord with me: we have two ears and one mouth, use them accordingly. I don't remember when that came up in my life , but it has been true and useful. Enjoy your new community!
You wear your humility and enthusiasm well, and you are a good man to feed the dogs when they are hungry. Don't worry about how smart you are relative to anybody else (least of all myself), comparison is the thief of joy. I look forward to seeing you contribute when you have something to say, and to grow as you interact with this impressive but lovable group of people. Welcome aboard, HB!
I agree with your praise. The people here are really great.
