I am watching Mystery Road, and Australian series. What exactly is a Station? A ranch? So far, i have not seen any animals; however there is amazing scenery.

Aha! That explains it.
There have been a number of new B-level Australian sci-fi series on Netflix..made very inexpensively in remote areas, with impressive scenery

Yes, a "station" is ranch-like, in Australia sometimes bigger than a mid-size US state, as the land is rather barren & animals need a lot of acreage per head.
