Being a battered wife put me over the edge into non-belief!

A point that has been made for over 2000 years:

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

The POE (Problem of Evil) is a very potent logical conundrum for Christians and it is simply not possible to reconcile it. Simply stated, it is logically impossible for god to be all good, all knowing, and all powerful and not do anything about human suffering. The best they can ever do is either throw one of those "all" attributes under the bus (usually, all powerful), or, make some lame free-will argument that would effectively blame all the petitioners above for their own predicaments.

The free will argument happens quite often.
