I liked the last one the best!
My parents told me tht two of my fourth great grandmothers on my father's side were Cherokee, but they insisted that my skin color, which is very noticeably darker than my five siblings, was from our "olive skinned Welsh ancestry."
I didn't even know my mother had a sister named Barbara until i was 16... she married a black man, and my parents thought she'd be a bad example for their kids.
In high school, I happened to have a lot of Asian friends. This concerned my parents enough that they took me aside to tell me how mixed race marriages were not a part of god's plan. The Mormon church did not outright forbid mixed race marriages, but they did and still do heavily discourage them.
From this post to the "brains" of racists everywhere ( I am annoyingly optimistic!)
