I don't think he would be... Say what you want about Lord Commander Marmalade, but his crazy has the ability to not only accomplish agenda, but alter what's considered reasonable discourse and middle-ground positioning. Plus, Trump has both houses of Congress. These are both things an elevated Pence would not have, therefore he would have a much more difficult time pushing agenda. He would be a lame duck by default.

@ghettophilosopher In some ways Pence would er worse. For starters, Trump desn't really understand how Washington works, but Pence does. So Pence woudl be much more competent at implanting draconian policies.

On the brighter side Pence would likely push his own religion's agenda, which may cause other denominations to get up in arms and the religious right could form into a circular firing squad and injure each other politically. However, I think this is more wishful thinking than would refelect what would actually happen. Pence is pretty extreme in his religious views though, and ti possible that he would scare and offend many religious persons who views were not so extreme.
