Why not?

First of all, not standing

Why am I here? As in on Agnostic, because I like the community.

Why am I on alive? Failure of birth control, or lack of birth control. My folks did not plan on more than 2, I'm #4, and have two younger sisters.

What is the purpose in my life? To raise responsible kids (pretty much done) and to be here to help them raise their kids (work in progress). To be the balance to their religious conservative grandfather. To share my wisdom and encouragement. And lastly thanks to my religious training while married, my purpose is well stated by John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement:
“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

I'm totally getting paid to be here.

I just came into a room because I really needed something, I don’t remember... I have it on the tip of my tongue...

I ask myself this all the time. I liken it to "being present." It's helped me move forward in ways I could never have imagined.

It was just a random occurance

There is no "purpose" for being here and it is just a random chance happening. It is entirely left to YOU to make a purpose for yourself.
Enjoy your life every day. Life is brief and unpredictable, embrace it NOW while you still have the privilege and opportunity to do so.

In other words...know your 'Why'

I have enough trouble not forgetting where I left the tv remote...

I have to work.

It's not the first day of the rest of my life. It's the first day of what's left of my life. I often have had the feeling that there is something, a purpose or mission that I am here to complete but I don't know what it is. Perhaps it will come clear. But I am having the best time while I wait.

sorry, why should i not forget to ask myself that? i generally know the answer. by the way, i am sitting down. if YOU want to know why i am right here right now (i already know) it's because it's too late to go to bed and get up in time for breakfast, and i need to get up within a certain time range for breakfast so i can take my medications (for diabetes). in 45 minutes that range begins, so i am waiting for breakfast time. why here instead of somewhere else? because my computer is here.
