When someone says to me, "I know what I saw," I respond, "No, you know what your brain TOLD you you saw."
And i would trust...you? Or MY brain?
Who's more likely to lie to you? Keep in mind your brain isn't known for telling you the truth... about anything.
@Benthoven mine does...i insist upon it, and it Serves me well.
@AnneWimsey Your brain tells you the truth?
@Benthoven I cannot think of an instance when it did not...i can however think of numerous instances where I denied/ignored my brain, never a good idea!
Yeah, but more accurate response would be:
Just, because you saw it that doesn't mean you know it.
Your eyes can lie to you too. My brain knows my keyboard is flat but I got new glasses friday and my eyes claimed it had a hump in the middle. It finally went back to flat today after I got my frames adjusted. LOL
Nice. I always used "you may know what you saw, but you don't know if that's what actually happened".
Very true. Going somewhere in the family car I always thought the moon was following us when I was a child.
Today I got my free lotto ticket and she threw my old ticket away. I looked at the cashier and said I thought you needed those. She claimed they don't need them, but just days earlier the same thing happened and I swear the clerk ran up a one dollar receipt and stapled it to my old ticket so as to explain everything. ? Maybe not, but I thought I knew what I saw.
