Hatches are battened.
I am watching it on TV and it's coming your way. Stay safe.
I hope you all don't have to make me come down there after I've been working here.... but I bet I do.
It's just now starting here. The next 24 hours will tell the tale.
We're as prepared as we can be. Have a generator, gassed up and ready
to go if we lose power. We're at the top of a hill, so flooding shouldn't be
an issue. Hopefully, the wind doesn't take anything big down.
I'll post periodic updates, as long as I have a signal.
We're taking it seriously, but now, all we can do is wait and see.
Y'all stay safe out there!
@KKGator stay safe, been through 15 or so of these things.... usually more annoyance than otherwise, but water, and debris are dangerous. generator good, chainsaw usually very helpful
@Happyonearth Yeah, not my first rodeo either. I always contend that while this is the worst part of living in the South, it's periodic, and still beats sub-zero temperatures, and blizzard-conditions. We're as prepared as we can be.
Been working all day with my son to secure everything...finally done except the plants ... Get them inside in the morning...?
Same here! Stay safe.
@KKGator ditto chickee...
Be safe and please let us know you are ok when you can afterwards.
Take care. Keep posting while you can and update us. Be safe.
So far, so good. We're on the east side of projected landfall, so that's not ideal, and they're saying it'll be a Cat 2 when it goes through here.
It's a pretty large storm. The next 24 hours are going to be 'fun'. LOL
