Can anyone recommend a good product to help with training a dog not to bark excessively? I have a one year-old Yorkie who loves to bark at everything he sees or hears outside. I was considering a citronella collar until I started reading user reviews - seems like they are really hit and miss, and fraught with problems. I just need some peace and quiet, and to be able to sleep through the night.

Good luck with that my York I’ve still barks at the tv when he sees a dog or hears a dog on it. He is 13 years old.?

We used a bark collar,a small battery would give the barker a tingle when it barked, after a while,I took it off and made up a dummy, the Dog didn't know the difference and quit barking.

My dog barks at every little thing she sees outside so I made sure she can't get the curtains open to look out. She sleeps with one of the kids who have fans on and blackout curtains so that takes care of sound.

Ive heard about sonic whistles but fear they may be cruel.

With a previous dog, I had a better schedule so was able to take the time to sharply say "enough" each time she barked inappropriately.

Perhaps a crate is in order at night.
