Kids still go hungry. Innocent people still get killed in war. The nicest and most godly of us get very horrible terminal diseases like cancer and ALS. They pray plenty and still get sick... then those around them say, "god works in mysterious ways." He sure does. to take beautiful people and make them sick even though they worship him... that's very mysterious, narcissistic, and cruel. And if he did exist and did these things i'm convinced that i have much more humanity than god, for i would never do these things. if i had the power to do so I would never let suffering happen.

Did you ever hear about the prayer study at that one Baptist hospital? Not only did prayer have no effect, but the patients that knew they were being prayed for had a slower recovery than the ones that either weren't being prayed for or didn't know it which they attributed to an increased pressure to recover

I think it's a way to not address something and take credit for trying to convince an invisible sky fairy to have things go your way, as though that's a good idea and takes a lot of effort.
