First they came for trans people, then the gays... then they came for the Jews... 'Miracle Hill' says it has a religious right to deny non-Christian foster parents.

We stand together, or we can shoot ourselves on the foot now and save them some trouble.

This isn't new, or limited to one or two states. The article may be about foster care, but private adoption agencies for countless years have had wide legal latitude to screen out prospective adoptive parents on factors such as religious faith....or lack thereof. I knew a wonderful professional couple in Alabama in the early 1990s who spent several years being turned away by every single adoption agency in the area, even being told outright by some it was because they were not "a good Christian home." They finally were only able to adopt by going international, and agreeing to a special needs child, at that. They, incidentally, were active Unitarian Universalist fellowship members, so practically card-carrying agnostics. Clearly that must have marked them as minions of Satan. ?
