My social skills aren't exactly finely honed, so i'm wondering if I can get a few takes on this. I tend to say i'm awesome (almost exclusively for humor purposes) and occasionally when I pull something off I didn't expect to be able to i'm actually serious. Most people will laugh with me or at me or add in something like 'you be awesome, i'm gonna be super awesome' they usually get a chuckle out of it and move on. I am also liberal with telling others they're fantastic.
However the is one man at work that it annoys the hell out of him. I don't run others down and even if I meant it 100%of the time that i'm awesome, why would that bother him so much? I'm at a loss. Shouldn't everyone think they're awesome?
If you're awesome, you're awesome. What are you supposed to say?
I can’t understand the fixation with such extreme adjectives. What’s wrong with “normal”, or “good”, or “fine”?
I feel that an obsession with superlatives can lead to “failure”, because most of the time “it ain’t gonna happen”. And that’s not a bad thing. It’s a “normal” thing. And I’m happy with that.
Just my opinion...
Maybe the world would be a little nicer if we were all told we're awesome and we believed it. Everyone is good at something. Why not be proud of it?
It would not annoy me . I think it's kind of cute
He's jealous, won't/can't admit it to himself, and makes you out to be the bad guy so he can resent you instead of facing himself. Seen this many times.
Humor is extremely subjective. It’s hard to know what a person knows is humorous.some people refuse to laugh no matter how funny it might seem to us.
