Some principles are still worth defending even when you seem to be in the minority.

I don't really follow professional sports anymore.

Got disgusted with the entire thing.

Especially football because of Mike Webster and all the other men dying with broken minds and bodies way too soon.

But also because the citizens in an area are taxed to build a stadium that most of them will not be able to afford the cost of tickets to take their family.

And if the Mike Webster reference were not enough of a clue I was a Picksburg team girl all the way.

Even when the Pirates wore those ridiculous pinstripes and pillbox caps.

Well done you. My son's football team (proper footie that is) were trully bad. They were all lovely clever geeky boys, but trully awful. Then went from losing 16v0 to 12v2...so we saw an improvement! They are all off to university now. They will be future Drs, teachers, academics but not one of them will be a footballer! Great lads though
