I think the point system here is just a source of amusement for most of us, it is good in the early stages to help keep out trolls and scammers.

I know there are some practical reasons for the point system. I just can't remember them now.

Your post about points, points out the points system is pointless or points to the point that some people gain points for pointless reasons.

My point, points out that is is pointless pointing the finger at the points people make getting their points across.

I don't give a damn about the points. I just enjoy good dialogue on topics of my choosing. That is motivation enough.

I don't see the problem. If you aren't interested in those things, then don't pay them any mind.
Just enjoy the conversations and people who gather here.
There are no "requirements" other than not preaching religion.
