Well the Midterms have passed and we now have a Democratic house and Republican senate. Establishment democrats do not impress me but we have six new scientist elected to serve and a lot of new progressive voices. The wheels of change they turn very slowly. But they do bring change. My fear is that Pelosi and the other corporate elites will do business as usual and plunge our working class and poor into deeper strife or will there be any accountability to the American voter? I fear that this house will prop up their gorgon candidate for 2020 ignoring the voices of the people.
Well, the peoples voices have been ignored (popular votes)since trump regime took over, so hopefully the new peeps will have a different approach!
Well that is my concern especially if Pelosi gets the coveted speaker position. I loathe her. She is so corrupt and beholden to corporate money that I cannot see much getting done. But if we get a fresh face as speaker then perhaps we can expect to see some worthwhile change.
@Ceaselessmind I don’t agree with you so much on the Nancy Pelosi description, but there is something to be said for seeing the world through newer, fresher eyes. On the other hand age and experience has a place also.
@patchoullijulie age for me has nothing to do with it. She was speaker before and she ushered through more bills to help the corporate establishment than she did to help the American people. I look at actions and voting records. Also who is funding her. She is quite beholding to corporate entities. I do not see her making good changes.
@Ceaselessmind I am not a supporter of corrupt corporations either, so I hear what you are saying. With the age comment, I meant that it can, generally speaking, be a positive in terms of what we experience throughout life.
A whole different caliber of people in the house right now... I don't think it will be business as usual at all...
