Anyone a fan of The Great British Baking Show? It's awesome (despite being "reality tv" ). Season 6 just showed up on Netflix! Yay!
Groan
Why? It's a nice change of pace on this side of the pond...given all the assholery going on in this country, it's nice to see people being nice.
@pashaonenine Because here its twee and middle class (British Middle class..not American). So lame
@Amisja Well, we still like to see people being nice to each other. Fucking hell, look what's going on over here. (What distinguishes your middle class from ours? Asking because I sincerely don't know.) Now I'm quite curious which other shows we love are loathed over there, and vice versa.
@pashaonenine
The upper middle-class in Britain broadly consists of people who were born into families which have traditionally possessed high incomes, although this group is defined more by family background than by job or income. This stratum, in England, traditionally uses the Received Pronunciation dialect natively.
Yeah, my 13 and 15 year old love it as well. It seems so... civilized relative to what little reality TV I've watched.
I have caught a few episodes. Fun and interesting show!
My daughter watches it all the time, so I've seen pieces of it here and there. It is pretty good. Mellow.
Of course - get inspired to try to bake many things seen on the show when I do view it. English Muffins were one such inspiration.
@Donotbelieve Thanks
