Is time a real thing or is it simply another way of man controlling the masses.
can't time be real AND a way of controlling the masses? but i think the latter is just silly. time was a concept long before there even WERE masses. it's a slightly incorrect concept, since the real thing is time-space. not everything is a conspiracy to control the masses. really.

@darien75 wrong. time is measured for us earthlings by the sun, the rotation and orbit of our planet, yes observed but not controlled by man. our (and others' birth, maturing, death, decacy, all controlled by time but while observed by man, not controlled by man (murderers excluded). appointments do not define time. that's man's use of it, or misuse of it. that isn't the same thing as the concept of time, or even the concept of measuring time.

'Time' as mankind describes it IS just human concept of regulation in my opinion, since no-one has ever proven conclusively and empirically that ' time' is measured anywhere else nor by anything else in the Universe EXCEPT for here on Earth and by mankind alone.
I don't like either poll answer. Time varies by location. It does appear linear, and always moving forward, at least as of yet (no evidence to show anyone or thing can go backward). Now that we know the speed of light can be varied and that gravity affects time (Especially black holes), the question becomes the measurement of time, which is man made and discretionary and going to fluctuate depending where the moving universe is monitored.
