A few years ago I got a certificate of De Baptism!
I was lucky, never got baptised, my father and grandfather were enlightened men. No religion, no indoctrination, just told to read everything and make up my own mind.
I’ve never encountered a god based belief system that made sense. And frequently observed a common thread of hostility of faith based god followers that those who didn’t subscribe to their belief we’re either rebellious, lost or their enemy.
I ponder the idea that “loner personalities” tend to be far-removed and disenfranchised from organized god fearing religions. Much like identity politics, there’s always something about their core narratives that is irrational and exclusive - and that any rationally thinking person with a deep sense of logical and mindful thought would be hard-pressed to subscribe to any revealed truth narrative.
Everyone is born atheist. Religious dogma is taught. Lol.
It's such an idiotic procedure. Candles around a regular tub of water. Not holy water, but REGULAR WATER! It's basically a faux drowning lol
It's "holy water" because some person who claims to be connected to a God more so than everyone else says it's blessed through him or her by God. Ridiculous! Like being "blessed" with "holy water" is going to somehow have a practical benefit to you. It's an imaginary "God's blessing" before life shits all over you. Guess it doesn't really work lol
At first, this made me chuckle because the baby looks like a cat trying to avoid a bath. Then, it made me angry because the baby is terrified and they traumatizing it.
Everyone is born an Atheist, some of us are willing to fight to keep it that way.
If you think about it, we're all born atheists. But maybe some more militant than others. That baby is a hero
Yes i did mean militant atheist lol
