I'm a huge fan of shows exposing religions and cults - especially Scientology. Even before "Going Clear" - I got interested around the time of the landmark expose "The Truth Rundown", and I followed the goings on between Anonymous and Scientology.
And I absolutely think Leah Remini's Scientology: the Aftermath is groundbreaking. The first two seasons were incredible, and I've been looking forward to season three. Well to kick it off, she's doing a special on the Jehovah's Witnesses tonight. It starts at 9pm.
If you have any interest in stuff like this, I highly recommend you watch it. It's on A&E apart 9pm, and is also on Hulu Live. If you have a regular Hulu account, it'll be available tomorrow.
Enjoy! ?
A pity the JW episode wasn't on ABC or any other major news network. As a person who thinks religion is harmful, it's good when religious communities that appear to be so benign, have its members sharing their painful stories. I think its especially true for religious communities that are big on proselytizing, because an outsider will be shown all of the "good," until it's too late, and they are trapped surving through manipulation, turmoil and dispair. The producers of the show should target all of the religious communities in America... maybe starting with the christian-based ones first. Anyone agree?
I miss Leah Remini and her exposure to scientology. She does a great job.

I used to be fundamentalist christian and I have to say that scientology isn't any worse, in my opinion. They're both crazy, just christianity is more widely accepted because it has been around for so long. Does Leah Remini do an expose on evangelical christians? If not, she should.
