Can’t stand sjws. Don’t like it? Tough. I’m not interested in dating someone that misrepresents liberalism.
Though some "SJW"s have gone to a PC extreme, the term has been corrupted by the right, & you've fallen for it! Many actually are real "warriors" fighting for civil/sexual/political rights, & have my support. I hope you get the dating you seem to want & deserve, either no one, or a right-wing bigot that may as well be a theist. Best of luck!
And then there are those who thrive on "controversy" for the sake of controversy.
Is this an after thought on some previous private "controversy?"
But what I am most interested in is this: how does one "mispresent" an ideology, let alone an ideology as poorly defined and broadly watered down as "liberalism"?
One may misunderstand it, or one may redefine (misdefine?) it. Or one may even be referring to a particular faction of that broad ideology.
How do you define it? Obviously you have a clear idea of what it means.
Did someone actually ask? Or are you attempting a preemptive strike?
It may be a good idea to use the full term rather than an acronym. Not all of us are au fait with the jargon....!
I don't like them either.
@maturin1919 I don't have a problem with trans people. One of my best friends is trans. She is a great musician, a talented luthier and a curmudgeon like me
Never understood using SJW as an insult. Would you rather be an Antisocial Injustice Coward? Bit like 'do-gooder', really.
What does "sjws" stand for?
@JustKip He says he leans left but likely has an idiosyncratic definition of "left".
Social justice warriors has become a catch-all pejorative for people who some perceive as (and can actually at times BE) sanctimonious concerning their rightness, hard to satisfy, and in many ways substitute political dogma for religious dogma ("political correctness" ). It's not an entirely specious critique, and I could point to several examples in my local area who I know tangentially or through local listservs. But I'll make common cause with such folks where it makes sense, in a "lead, follow or get out of the way" fashion. I'll take someone with compassion and empathy, however misplaced, over someone who emphasizes "otherness", any day.
