În țara noastră românească vrem înșine stăpâni să fim,
Și stăpânirea țării noastre cu nimenea s-o împărțim.

Și nu vrem noi, românii, fruntea în veci la nimeni s-o plecăm,
Și din moșie nici o palmă, o unghie să n-o lăsăm.

Nu vrem să închinăm popoare sub mândru sceptru românesc
Ci să trăim din viața noastră și dreptul nostru strămoșesc.

Nici la răpiri ne zboară dorul, dar vai! acelui ce-a-ndrăzni
Știrbiri moșiei a ne face… El cu viața va plăti!

Căci pe moșia cea străbună vrem înșine stăpâni să fim
Și stăpânirea ei cu nimeni nu cugetăm s-o împărțim.

In our Romanian country, we want to be ourselves masters,
And the mastery of our country not to share with anyone.

And we don't want that we, Romanians, bow our front ever, to anyone,
And from our land any palm, any nail we won't let away.

We don't want to subject peoples under the proud Romanian scepter,
But to live from our life and from our ancestral right.

Neither to raptures flies our desire, but woe to the one that would dare
Diminutions of the land to make us... He with life will pay!

Because on the ancestral land we want to be ourselves masters
And its mastery with anyone we do not think to share.
