Went to college for law enforcement, where I now vividly remember our instructor for ‘narcotics & dangerous drugs’ asking ‘if crime pays?’ “You bet it does” he stated! “It pays well!” That was in the late 70’s … so given inflation.. I suspect it’s paying better than ever! And more - we’ve a generational theft for President!

It has always paid. They don't exactly brag about the ones they don't catch, and there are a lot of crimes they don't have a clue are happening.

I think it still depends on who's breaking the law. It often seems that laws are really in place just to stop the poor taking a fair share of wealth.
