There does seem to be a lot of dead wood on this site which might usefully be cleaned out. For example if I go to Browse Members I am presented with twenty-nine people. Ufortunately only four of these have visited in the last month! Most of the rest seem to have joined (was alcohol involved), visited once or twice in the next couple of days, and never agian. These people are just cluttering up the site. Shouls some inactivity limit be applied after which inactives are removed?

I was out of the scene for about eight or so months. You're saying my account should have been nuked? Sorry to take up your screen real estate...

Excuuuuuuuse me for having had major surgery, life-threatening lack of breathing, or, wait, troubles with my internet service.
Maybe i shoud just hurry up & drop dead so your "tidiness" can erase me altogether.
You need a hobby!

Perhaps a life, too.

What difference does it make?
It has no effect on anyone's account.
Who cares if there are inactive accounts? I don't get the concern.

Dead wood? There’s a pill for that.

There is a value in keeping an open record of who joined in the past which is active and available. And it is important to remember that some people may be away for a long time though no fault, such as being critically ill for perhaps months, it would be cruel for them to loose their account, (Though I know it is easy to start again.) and find themselves out when they recover. If it is done it should at least be a very long time, such as a couple of years, and at least an email warning should be sent.

I have right at 400 in mine, the vast majority are inactive. This is true of any group, anywhere, any time. Culling the herd accomplishes nothing other than paring down the size of the group until it suffers a spurt of regrowth and you wind up with the same thing again. It's part of the beast. Look at the number of people who get out to vote on election day, then ask yourself if that doesn't seem familiar.

This is a valid question. I also have noticed there are several members in my local area who have not visited the site in a long time but still have active profiles. I imagine there is a specified amount of time where inactivity deactivates your profile.

Calling people "dead wood" because they are busy during the holiday season is rude and judgmental.

Who appointed you judge and jury?

The Sheriff of Deadwood?

That seems to be the case with quite a few of them. All lot of them are probably scared off by the rabid foul mouthed liberals.

And the folks who seem to have no trouble generalizing their ad hominem.
