Thank god I don’t have to go to church today. Lol.
All church was to me when I was a kid was a pain in the ass that prevented me from watching the last half hour of this weeks episode of Emergency. I got dragged by my parents to the weekly Jeebus Fest on Saturday nights.
These days, Saturday nights are punctuated by a couple of drinks and a nice dinner followed by an evening of karaoke. A much better way to spend Saturday nights if you ask me.
Nobody ever HAS to go to church. Most people who go to church do so out of habit which they think is a duty they must observe, but in fact they do have the free choice not to go if they wish. The fact is that they go as an automatic default position because they are programmed to do so by their family. Good for you that you are bucking the system, as someone who never had the programming in the first place, I welcome you to the freethinking world of the unbrainwashed.
I disagree. Not going to church was torture to me for a while. I was in way deep.
@sweetcharlotte Good for you...! Nice to see you back.
@Meili Sorry you felt like that, but you had been made to feel that way, that is what I meant by being brainwashed into believing you had to go to church. I’m glad you have managed to free yourself from such mind control.
@Marionville My comment was a little tongue in cheek, but yeah, it was brainwashing. It felt totally real. I'm just incredibly grateful I don't feel like I have to go anymore.
