It would seem that the Salem Witch trials seems to be constantly on my mind it really is a naw in my craw just how and why this incident occurred unfortunate for the executed .
Thankfully, we don't do that sort of thing today. Evidence is required when convicting witches, like in the current collusion investigation.
I'm writing a fictionalized account of the only trial to be held in philly. Its quite interesting how perception and fear had folks make sense of what they saw and heard. For example, it didn't make sense that a woman from sweden would be speaking with a drawal the neighbors had a hard time understanding, so they claim she spoke in tongues. An unusual dry summer caused milk production to wane, the community believed she cursed the cows & goats. Our brains try to interpret what we see into something familiar. When it cannot, we make monsters and stories to reason out occurrences. I think i had the petception that the witch trials were much larger than they actually were. Agreed, its a terrible thing, but what actually occurred is pretty interesting if the details of individual stories are explored.
If this is something that is "constantly on your mind".... You REALLY need to get a hobby!
That’s not the only thing ... there are other atrocities to think of and how immoral they were
They were superstitious Puritan with human nature’s and they stored rye grain in a bin
And then rats and mice crawled through urinating on the unprocessed grain which developed a mold upon it.
And then they cooked the grain in a bread which subsequently turned the mold into lsd then they ate the bread and tripped hard AF!
Which led their Puritan side to believe that they were possessed by the devil and so some of them then let their human side to take advantage of this and use it to take land from certain, kill a wife so that one could marry a woman after her husband was put on trial.
So yeah pretty much how shit went down but still no where near the level of which burnings that happened in northern France and Normandy.
There’s places there that they scorched the earth so bad that the grass has never grown back.
