in my case, on the contrary.

American sanctions benefit you?

@FrayedBear, american sanctions do NOT have significance.

@walklightly Apart from probably your petrol, gas and internet costs.

@FrayedBear, look, if you want to argue, please state this in your post. your fucking question was: do american sanctions have significance? i take the liberty to answer that, on the whole, & relatively speaking, no, american sanctions do not have significance. no debate needed.

@walklightly You made it personal by saying "not in your case". My original enquiry was generalised applying to countries like Russia and China. It is my suspicion that American sanctions have affected prices of some commodities in Australia, just as the recent intention to remove the free nature of the internet will affect our costs. Now if you think I am being argumentative when I'm offering alternate view go ahead.

@FrayedBear, yes, you're correct: i made it personal. it's the only true view point in my opinion. everything else can only ever be supposition. my experience is the reality i live. in the future i will sniff out very carefully any allusion to politics, & consequently keep my mouth shut ?

@walklightly there is no issue of politics. I don't give a brass razoo which American political party imposed the sanctions. IMO they have largely become ineffective against the countries they are imposed against as they have learnt to do without. However the flow on effects frequently affect other 'innocent bystanders' around the world. I give you the benefit of the doubt in classing you as an 'innocent bystander' and continue to argue against your being unaffected.

No because everyone is growing increasingly tired of our imperialistic behavior as well as the number of participating countries that are a part of the B.R.I.C.S. Coalition which governs itself which makes our sanctions more of a hollow threat.

But I’m sure that some politibot will say that it’s all trump even though our governments behavior towards Russia began when they started forming alliances with countries that we couldn’t conduct regime changes to and I believe that this all began sometime before 2012.
So no

A thoughtful reply thank you.

One for 45 to cogitate?

45 does not know that word.

@silverotter11 well let's wait for his past hamburgers to catch up with him. I'm told that there is nothing like hemorroids/ piles and swollen lumpy prostrate to make you think.
