How are your investments doing. I'm way down.
Poorly I’m running out of time and patience but my stocks in Anheuser Busch are doing great it seems like when the economy isn’t doing well everybody drinks more. ?
also, toilet paper.....ha ha
@thinktwice Well ain’t that some shit. ?
Property has been level for this year and my wife's 401K took a slight downward turn. With the action by the Fed, I think even our property may start to fall through the coming year and onward if nothing happens to fix it.
I lost and gained a bit over my lifetime and learned to let things ride. I'm confident it will be back.,just maybe not in my lifetime. My heirs will be ok. I am doing well, that is expendible money.
You are way more generous than I am...I am not leaving anything to my heirs! ha ha Gotta start spending in a few months to make sure I do...I will leave them what I can't spend, my life insurance proceeds...ha ha...
@thinktwice Cash in your policies and have even more fun.
@ugly I was going to do that but I am already having too much fun...lol
I lost my modest amount in the '08 mess and it never came back. I just stayed out of the market as I was unable to find anyone I trusted to help with my planning.
I would enjoy finding someone to help with investing but I have not been impressed with the local options for planners.
Try Fidelity and go with what you know. They have some great tools for research there.
@RiverRick Thank You!!
I’m down moderately. You can’t be aggressive in a stock market with this much uncertainty and will continue to be with every idiotic tweet.
Keep in mind that the value at any point in time is what you are seeing...not a reflection necessarily your earnings income...
Up, down, up, down...the value is critical if you need to take out money to live on...let it ride...and stop watching...it was making me crazy, too...
I am fortunate that I had a few extra bucks to invest. It's been an interesting ride and I/m not really too concerned. I'm doing fine.
@ugly Good...I am not watching...the stupidest investors are those with the most intelligence because we don't have the patience to ride things out...ha ha ha...I have been on this ride more than once and am doing fine as well....
@thinktwice I'm happy to hear that.
I think mine are down 2% but I am very conservatively poised.
How were your investments structured.? Mostly US stocks? FANG stocks , what?
I learned a loooong time ago what goes up will come down. Twice in a decade my/our IRA fell to a certain level, then rose and fell again. We pretty much ended up where we started. Even though I/we were with a reputable, non-profit co, (TIAA) and had what is known as social choice a lot of money went toward things I did not want. Gradually we removed all of our investments save for one small guaranteed plan which gives me 3% no matter what the market does.
