I posted this three years ago today on FB. I really don't miss this. I am facing West. If you look at the south line, that is 6 lines of semis, and it is over half a mile long. If you were to look at the South East side there is an access road. From where you can see the trucks to the south, that is where the plant starts. There was a single line from where I was on the access road. And plenty behind me. At times I made great money hauling. I had a few days where I made $1000 or better after I paid for fuel. Those days are few and far inbetween. Now if you look at this line up, that was probably a 6 hour wait from the time I got there to the time I left. I could get 9 loads in a day (on a good day), but days like this (which happen a lot) you might get 1 or 2. Plus idling that long you burn about 1 1/2 gallon an hour. Wanna hear adults whine like little kids? Sit in that line with your CB on. Sometimes there is some funny things, but after a while you just shut it off.
Going back to full time at the end of the month going to a dedicated route for Schneider I almost can’t wait but knee said that I had to.
How do you like working for Schneider? I've heard a lot of bad about them. As well as Swift, Werner, and others.
@TheGreatShadow I don’t know yet I tried staying with local companies and they either offered not enough money or home time and being older I’d prefer to be home more so I tried DLI delivering car parts to GM dealerships.
And sadly a ramp at a dealership failed while I was unloading an engine and I blew my knee out and had to have surgery and I’ve got a guy that I’ve known for while that runs independent that I’ve run a few team runs with him since.
But now my knees good the run I’ve got with Schneider is no touch dedicated mostly from NC to Jersey and I’ll be able to pull my 10 at home twice a week and then my 34 on the weekend.
$7500 bonus over a year and I’ll average $1000 a week partially because of my veterans status so I’m going to try them.
But if this doesn’t work out any better than I’ll just start running a trash truck just to be home at least
@48thRonin First and foremost, thank you for your service, Sir! If this doesn't work for you, I have a Marine buddy that lives in northern SC. He might have a suggestion?
@TheGreatShadow Not TMC is it?? I only ask because I’ve got a field recruiter that’s been hitting me up for a couple of years now. ?
@48thRonin No. lol. I'll send you a message.
