I don't agree with the necessity of a Wall but I do agree that we need a better method of allowing immigration into the United States. We are a nation built by immigrants, we ought to be welcoming people who seek a better life, or asylum. The nation needs a better way to handle immigration, a wall is not a solution.
The most recent estimate is that there are 16.7 million undocumented immigrants in the US approximately 5% of the population. Ronald Regan had proposed in his immigration bill of 1986 amnesty to immigrants who had been in the country since 1982. He said "I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally,"
I didn't agree with much of Reagan's politics but he was a man, and not an idiot.
