Walking through the village this afternoon, pushing my bicycle. An elderly lady strolls up to me with a huge smile.
Elderly lady: "Oh hello dear! I saw you on Sunday!"
Me: "Oh - erm, did you? Where?"
Elderly lady: "You were in church!"
Me: "Erm..."
Elderly lady: "With your two little girls!"
Me: "Erm..."
(Note: I don't have any children and, as a Jewish atheist, have never attended a church service in my life!)
...the dignity of the village sage,
having been left intact;in some settings the role
or contribution of elderly undefined or nonexsistant.
You may have "made her day",her smile
may be an acknowledgment of your kindness
exuded in the village;harmlessly trying to bond
to another female maternally?
Lol. You probably have one of those timeless faces Jeni. People recognize me as someone else every now and again. Maybe she was just our recruiting and you looked impressionable ( although I picture you from our exchanges as anything but impressionable, lol). Have a Happy New Year.
